WebTex is a B2B web application for the textile industry. WebTex provides customers and suppliers with access to order processing, purchasing, accounting and despatch facilities.

Profit Track 100 "Best Use of Technology" Microsoft Award
The achievements of the UK's top 100 private companies by profit growth are recognised in the annual Profit Track 100 Awards.

The Microsoft judging panel acknowledged the Designers Guild Webtex system, an element of the Mertex system, as a best example of innovation delivering significant improvements in customer service and profitability.

The development of Webtex and Mertex completely overhauled Designers Guild's approach to order processing and client liaison by creating a robust and secure paperless warehouse environment with comprehensive order entry, purchasing, accounting and despatch facilities.

This project was also quoted as a working example to support the findings of research carried out by Durham Business School that stated that, 'even in difficult times, high-performing firms are more likely to see IT as a means of attracting and keeping customers, rather than simply as a way to whittle down costs.'
