The Project Brief

The Customer

Radius Systems is an international manufacturer of pipe and fittings products for the civil engineering and construction sectors.​

The Challenge

Radius Systems needed a better solution to track and manage field sales enquiries for ‘on-the-spot’ pricing during customer visits. At the time, they used social media apps to communicate between field sales teams and the office-based commercial team. This approach lacked visibility and structure, making it challenging to provide prompt, professional quotations and follow-ups. They required a solution that would offer a live view of each customer enquiry to all staff.​

Our Solution

StyleTech collaborated with key stakeholders from both the commercial and field sales teams to identify the necessary capabilities for a digital solution. We developed a proof of concept to demonstrate how their needs could be met, which sparked further feedback and refinements. Notably, we built the solution within their existing Office 365 platform, eliminating the need for additional software licenses.​

The custom app included several tailored features:​

  • Compatibility with both mobile phones and desktop computers​
  • Scalable pricing to accommodate volume discounts​
  • Permission-based routines aligned with decision-making responsibilities​
  • Prevention of quote submissions for obsolete parts​
  • Automated approval processes for quotes exceeding predetermined sales values​
  • Display of relevant quoting history for each product​
  • User-friendly interface requiring minimal training​
  • Custom reports for sales analysis by user, product, customer, or date​

The Results

The implementation of this solution led to several measurable improvements:​

  • Enhanced visibility of all quotations submitted to customers​
  • 75% improvement in the speed and ease of calculating quote prices​
  • Reduced response time for submitting customer quotations from approximately 24 hours to about 2 hours, leading to an increased quote conversion rate​
  • Improved visibility and control over all product prices quoted by staff, including discount schemes​
  • Access to conversion rate statistics by salesperson, customer, product, or date​
  • Ability to track “lost reasons” for analysis and improvement actions for the sales team and operations​
  • Utilisation of existing Microsoft Office 365 licenses, resulting in no additional software license costs​

By implementing this tailored solution, StyleTech enabled Radius Systems to streamline their sales enquiry process, improve efficiency, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
